Mount Olivet
Chapter of Rose Croix

Faith, hope, and charity in thought and action.

Chartered September 11, 1863

Introduction

Chartered on September 11, 1863, Mount Olivet Chapter of Rose Croix is the Valley of Boston body responsible for the 17th and 18th degrees.

Known as the philosophical degrees, these lessons invite reflection on faith, hope, charity, and our responsibilities to one another. They use Christian imagery and historical settings to convey a spiritual message that each Mason can consider in the light of his own faith.

Rose Croix means “rose cross.” Its symbolism encourages reflection on love, sacrifice, and fellowship across differences of belief.

The 17th–18th Degrees

These degrees ask us to learn from the past, seek truth, and express our convictions through tolerance and service.
